Some of you may have noticed that the Reading Room has improved it’s green credentials by installing solar panels to it’s roof.

The work carried out by Ask Renewables was completed within two days without issue.

The project which has been partly funded by a grant from the Platinum Jubilee Fund is expected to supply the majority of the electricity used by the building for much of the year with any surplus generated being sold back to the grid.

To celebrate Dunnington Reading Room going green, it would be lovely if children could create pictures for display in the building! Ask Renewables have kindly donated 3 packs of pencil crayons as prizes! The theme of the competition will be ‘Powered by Sunshine’! 🌞 The closing date for entries is October 10th!
